The Orban Optimod-PC (model # PC1101E) PCIe card now has new v2 DSP code that brings Orban's Optimod 8500(HD)-class processing to the PC, tailoring your audio signal to help you compete in digital audio broadcasting (DAB), HD2 Supplemental Channel, Internet web/netcasting, podcasting and mastering applications.
Without proper processing, audio can sound dull, thin, or inconsistent. But Optimod-PC's multiband processing automatically levels and re-equalizes its input to the "major-market" standards expected by the mass audience. Broadcasters have known for decades that this polished, produced sound attracts and holds listeners. Now, Orban's broadcast-quality Optimod processing is available to you on a PCIe sound card - an economical, space-saving alternative to conventional stand-alone boxes. Audio I/O is internal through included drivers, via a DB-25 connection, or through an optional breakout XLR cable.

Optimod-PC has on-board digital signal processing that's suitable for both live streaming and on-demand programming. The DSP provides a loud, consistent sound to the consumer by performing automatic gain control, equalization, multiband gain control, and peak-level control. But thanks to its tight integration into the PC, the Optimod-PC offers more features than stand-alone processors. The control software and driver can control an Optimod-PC card on a local computer or anywhere on a customer's network. The Optimod-PC is also a professional-quality sound card with analog and AES/EBU inputs and outputs. Onboard Motorola 56362 DSP chips perform all audio processing, freeing the host CPU and keeping your system fast. Sound card emulation also allows the Optimod-PC to talk through the operating system to applications running on the host.

Orban PC1101E Features:
• Low throughput delay (less than 30 ms)
• Pre-limiter output with approximately 5 ms delay is available to drive talent headphones
• Compatible with industry standards such as Microsoft Windows Media Encoder, RealNetworks RealSystem Producer, Apple Quicktime, MP2/MP3, and OEM applications
• 2 Hz-20 kHz frequency response with bypass software running
• Adjustable delay from 25 ms to 100 ms with presets available
• Internal filters provide anti-aliasing for low sample rate services
• Selectable multi-band compressors and shelving EQ
• Multiple cards can be used in a single computer
• Drivers are included for Windows 2000 and XP
Optional Break out cable sold separately - 1101CBXLR

New To v2:
• Dual-mode stereo enhancement and more versatile equalization, plus Orban's latest low-IM look-ahead limiting technology and dual-band window-gated AGC
• V2's AGC matches the sound of the AGC in Orban's 2300, 5300, 8300, 8400, 8500, and 9400, so it is a perfect studio AGC for these products
• Over 20 adjustable factory presets for immediate, easy setup, and unlimited user presets (saved on host computer)
• New PreCode(tm) technology manipulates several aspects of the audio to minimize artifacts caused by low bitrate codecs, ensuring consistent loudness and texture from one source to the next
• New API provides complete remote administration over TCP/IP
• Optimod-PC Service application hosts a TCP/IP terminal server to allow external control of the Optimod-PC cards from either a Telnet/SSH client or a custom third party application
• All Optimod-PC Mixer and System Controls are accessible and all commands are simple text strings - you can adjust and monitor levels, tweak the processor's sound, save and recall presets, and more
• Look-ahead limiter can be made pre-emphasis aware, so OPTIMOD-PC can protect pre-emphasized links like some satellite uplinks and microwave STLs

Inputs:
• Analog balanced stereo input, 24-bit, 128x-oversampled, via DB-25 connector or through optional breakout cable via two XLR female connectors
• Two digital inputs, each with sample rate converter, allow asynchronous inputs to be mixed, or one can be configured as sync reference to lock output sample rate
• Inputs are balanced stereo AES/EBU or S/PDIF, user-adjustable, correctly dithered 14-24 bit resolution
• 20-96 kHz sample rate via DB-25 connection or through optional breakout cable via female XLR connector.
• Internal input is also supported via a driver that makes the card appear as a standard sound card to Windows or Linux systems, allowing audio via IP or software applications

Outputs:
• Analog stereo output, designed for monitoring purposes, switchable between peak limiter and multiband compressor output for reduced delay in live monitoring situations
• Balanced, via DB-25 connector or through optional breakout cable via two XLR male connectors
• Digital output is 2-channel AES/EBU or S/PDIF
• Sample rates and word lengths are selectable in software and have low jitter
• Output appears on DB-25 connector or, with optional breakout cable, via male XLR connector
• Output can be routed to software internally as described above for input
